Sahara

L.G.R.

African beauty and mystery influence L.G.R.’s Sahara sunglasses. The bold character of the design is characterised with superb quality cellulose acetate in Havana brown that extends to the temples, and a black stainless steel lower rim and nose bridge. Tempered mineral glass lenses are an important feature in sunglasses, and the Blue High Definition lenses in Sahara are exceptionally fine quality. Stratus

Lucas de Stael, Paris

Stratus is an award-winning frame series from young French designer, Lucas de Stael. An innovator who has a love for unusual eyewear materials, this is the first collection featuring these three particular materials together: stone, stainless steel and leather. It’s a combination we recognise as daring and exciting, and the execution is precise. The contrasts in the materials will work perfectly for those who desire a unique timeless design that pushes boundaries. Overtones of art deco offer an unexpected twist to the design. www.lucasdestael.com CN

Among the most elegant for women is a super slim Titanium design by Line Art Opera, and lyrical temples illuminated with shimmering Swarovski crystals. Charlotte

Coppe+Sid

A signature trend this season is semi-rimless frames with innovative interpretations. Coppe and Sid’s new collection has desirable, statement styles with vivid colour including Charlotte (above). The acetate frames are “enriched” by a nylon string inserted in the lower or upper part of the rim. Classic yet updated shapes, a cosmopolitan approach to design, and Italian craftsmanship ensure fine quality, and Coppe+Sid’s signature Lapis Lazuli stone is deftly tucked into the end-pieces. Max

Savile Row

Eighteen carat rolled gold and luminous acetate are among the highlights in the latest Savile Row Collection to be presented at the Paris fashion eyewear fair Silmo. The new designs have an intriguing history. Max is a tribute to the forefather of Savile Row – Max Wiseman.  Shapes are inspired by National Health Service frames for the 1940’s and 50’s. The designs are made exclusively at Algha Works factory in London, and compiled entirely from tooling that lay hidden in factory archives. Details that single out Max as a distinctive design include the nose bridge that extends to the temples, and the perfectly round shape. www.algha.com JG
